The event drew over 220 students, who spent time showcasing their skills in front of Club coaches and volunteers.
“This was a tremendous opportunity to share a great sport with so many students. As a Club we feel It’s important to have community outreach, and to see such a response from the student body, we were thrilled”, said Trevor King, Dearborn Soccer Club Director of Operations.
Eight separate small-sided fields, filled the 100 yard football field at Lowrey. Coaches at each station provided fun filled activities as players rotated at designated intervals, and were able to receive instruction from several of the coaches on hand.
“We are very focused on doing all that we can to continue being a dynamic soccer club. Offering many different levels of programs, including our ability to use our resources to provide services to our youth is vital. As a DSC Board, we will continue to support community based initiatives that help our youths prosper”, said Mike Berry, Dearborn Soccer Club Vice President, who along with Haisam Abadi, Dearborn Soccer Club Trustee, took in the great atmosphere at Lowrey.
“A great turnout and support by all. I was equally amazed by the school staff, parent support and the neighborhood support. The kids looked great out there today and glad they shared it with their families”, said Abadi.
Dearborn Soccer Club and the Dearborn Jaguars FC are exploring other projects within the community to offer more days to mirror the success of the Lowrey event.
“On behalf of our Club, we would like to thank Mrs. Zreik, Mrs. Mroue, the entire Lowrey Staff and student body for providing us this great venue to work with the students. We wish them all the best the remainder of the school year”, said King.
